remotely, typically over quite a distance, even through walls. They vary in how many sockets can be controlled from a handset — 1 ~ 5 and the wattage that each socket can handle — 1000w / 2500w / 3250w. They are particularly attractive for an elderly or infirm person, who might otherwise have to bend to actuate a plugged-in device, such as a standard lamp or TV — but they're handy regardless ! The better systems can also be manually switched at the socket itself. Some sockets have a neon status indicator - e.g. green=off, red=on. All brands remain OFF when power is restored after a power outage. Most systems have a "house code setting" - to prevent interference with your neighbours - but cheaper ones assume you're the only user locally ! Some handsets have 2 separate buttons for ON & OFF, but others use just one that toggles - once for ON, again for OFF - can be troublesome for elderly hands. Some include an ALL-ON / ALL-OFF option to quickly set ALL your sockets at once. Some systems offer "dimming" by holding down the ON button, so a special socket can dim a lamp (or regulate a fan). The various systems available do vary somewhat in price - your choice may depend on how many handsets you'd like ... One clever application might be for remotely activating security lights ... - just flood the outside of your home with light if you suspect a prowler ... - e.g. several 500-watt floodlights could be powered from your loft-space please text 07805 011795 giving contact info - name, LANDLINE number, & when convenient - we'll try our best to phone your LANDLINE when you suggest you can e-mail info@luvvin.it or if you don't mind the cost, try phoning above — if no answer, please leave contact info as above |
